About Us

Agape Acres was founded on the belief that every love story should begin in a place grounded in faith and filled with purpose. Named after the biblical word for unconditional love, the venue brings together a restored barn and an original 1886 farmhouse to create a sacred space where meaningful moments and lasting memories are made.

Agape Acres Barn is a family-owned passion business. Everyone in the Ensing Family lends a hand to get each event running smoothly!

What does "Agape" mean?

Agape means love, and is selfless, sacrificial, and an unconditional love. It is the highest of the four types of love in the Bible. This Greek word, agápÄ“ (pronounced uh-GAH-pay), Agape Acres Farm was the original name for our historic property.

In October 2021, we had the opportunity to move and restore this beautiful gothic arched-styled barn.Originally built in the 50's across the street, moving the barn was an amazing feat.

The barn sits on a farm property originally owned by the DeWeerd Family in 1886. They owned 80 acres and built the house currently standing next door. The DeWeerds were one of the first farmers in Jamestown Township. The barn itself was built in the 1950's after the owner's original barn was blown away in the Hudsonville tornado. The barn was a purchase from the Sears Catalogue!
